Our Annual Pizza Party

Every year for 16 years we have had a Pizza Party with neighborhood friends. There is the Knell family, Gleave family and ours, the Mills. The Pizza Party was started by Mima Rasband. She lived between the Knells and us, and Gleaves lived across the street from Mima. Mima was this tiny elderly lady who never married or had her own children. She taught school. She started the annual pizza party in her backyard. Since we started this tradition we have all moved away from the neighborhood. The Gleaves live in Midway, Utah; the Knells live in Orem, Utah; the Mills live in Malad, Idaho and Mima has passed away about 4 years ago. We all love her very much and miss her. The children loved her so much. Everyday they would go to her home for jelly beans and cookies. Mima would have them count their jelly beans and read their names on the dixie cups she put their candy in. Our families are all growing up. The younger children who weren't as familar with Mima are not sure why they have to get together with these other families, but they are slowly getting to know one another. We have children who have gotten married, getting married, on missions, moved out on their own and collage. It is so fun to get together to catch up. We love and miss you Mima.
