Thanksgiving

 Thanksgiving this year was chuck full of family....it was wonderful!

Troy, Blue and I went to Hyde Park, Ut (north of Logan) to spend

my first Thanksgiving with my Aunt Barbara and Uncle Lenny Thomas.

They have moved to Hyde Park from Scottsdale, AZ.

They are so happy...enjoying their new home, the weather, being close to

their daughter's, Pam's family.

There is always lots of laughter with the Headley family.

 Zues found love from my Uncle Lenny while playing Apples to Apples.

My Uncle has deemed a basement room to be his Game Room.

He has dual computer set up (computers have radiators to keep them from over heating).

He let Blue have a run at it. Uncle Lenny was impressed with his playing skills...

Blue has spent a "little time" playing a few computer games!

After Thanksgiving day we drove to Saratoga Springs, Ut to attend Desiree's mission farewell.

Misty wanted to have Thanksgiving and Chirstmas with all of the family for Dez.

After a "Christmas" dinner we gathered in the living room to share our testimonies of Christ.

I am always grateful for any opportunities my children have to feel the Spirit.

Everyone shared some thought or experience.

Tad shared a wonderful experience with all of us that I will always remember.

Tad was going to serve a mission at the same time his brother, Casey was and was

concerned about the financial burden it would be on his parents.

He knew someone that panned for gold up on the Jedidiah Smith River and decided 

that he would pan for gold to pay for his mission and had prayed that he would

succeed in finding what he needed.

He panned all day and was becoming discouraged and decided to pray.

When he began to pray the spirit was poured upon him so powerfully witnessing of

Christ that at some point Tad prayed that it would stop he couldn't take no more.

(please keep in mind this is my words not Tad's)

He had realized that he had gone to pan for gold when what he panned for

was a witness and testimony of Christ, that it wasn't money he needed to worry

about but having a testimony of the divinity of Christ.

I thought it was a beautiful experience that he had shared with all of us.

I hope that my children recognized the spirit of truth while Tad shared his experience.

 There always have to be a little friendly challenge games.

 So Thursday was Thanksgiving with my family, Friday was Christmas dinner, 

Saturday was Thanksgiving with Troy's family and Sunday was Dez's mission

farewell and dinner! We ate a lot of food this week.

So grateful for family and the gospel of Jesus Christ, nothing else matters.
