Another great time with my Achievement Girls.
They had so much fun putting these Cookie in a Jar gifts together.
"Cowboy Cookies in a Jar"
1 1/3 C oats
1/2 C packed brown sugar
1/2 C white sugar
1 C chocolate chips
1 1/3 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
layer in order but mix the last four ingredients together before putting in jar.
Include a card with the following instructions: Cowboy Cookie Mix in a Jar 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. 2. In a medium bowl, mix together 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Stir in the entire contents of the jar. You may need to use your hands to finish mixing. Shape into walnut sized balls. Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. 3. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes in the preheated oven. Transfer from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.
You really have to work to get all of the ingredients into the jar.
When the girls got to the last ingredient they all were saying,
"I can't get it all in, I need you to help me"
"You have to make it fit, just keep working at it"
They did it! All on their own too.
These girls are so cute and fun.
After cleaning up I read one of my favorite children's book
"The Three Trees"
