College Again

Last Thursday I met Sundi in Brigham City, UT to pick her up. We drove to Springville, UT to pick up Troy and then we spent the night at Rich and MaryKaye's.   Friday we drove the van full of Sundi's belonging to St. George, UT to her new off campus dorm she will be sharing with 4 other girls. We weren't sure if the van would even make it all the way to St. George. The van is just about to turn over 300,000 miles, the windshield is a spider web of cracks, no right blinker, no rear view mirror, no air conditioning and the trany is about to go out.  This thing is completely illegal. Not only is the van illegal, but we had Sundi sitting between us in a lawn chair.  I could tell when police were around, Sundi would scooch down in her lawn chair and Troy would sit up straight and proper after her scrambled his seat belt on.  In Cedar City Troy suddenly turned down another road because he didn't want a cop following him, but where he pulled into to turn around to get back on the road was the police station. We stopped at E-Sun to see about a job for Sundi, got Avalanche slushy at Swing and on our way home we at dinner at La Fiesta in Cedar City, stopped by Rich's to pick up the riding lawn mower he gave us (WAAHOO!!!!), dropped Sundi off at her car in Brigham City and got home in Malad by 10:30 pm. Very long, long day, but we did it.

 Sundi went to a wedding in Logan Saturday then drove over that evening to go to the rodeo with us.  Casey, his girlfriend, Brenda and her children Jacob and Cassie went with us. Sunday we went to church, Sundi then went to Karen Moss' mission farewell and visited high school friends. That evening Troy gave her and Blue their new school year Father's Blessings. This morning she and Troy left at 6 am, she dropped him off in Springville and got to St. George at 12:30 pm.  She was a little nervous about meeting her new roomies (hadn't meat them when we brought her things down). The oldest is 19, she was worried they might all be young, but says they are nice girls. They would check her room everyday to see if she had arrived and on Friday when they finally saw her things in her room they said, "She's here!"

 She has grown up so much, a beautiful young lady. It will be fun to see what experiences this new journey brings her. She has learned a lot the past three years and hopefully grown a little wiser. I think she is finally ready to grown up and start preparing for her future.  I called her dad this morning to see if she had gone on her way. He said, "It's sad to watch your little girl drive off by herself".
