Family

My cousin Pam and her husband, Kirk with their four children: Daphne, Jared, Kaleb and Victoria are staying at Rich and MaryKaye's house for a couple of weeks while the look for work in the area.  They are planning on moving up from Phoenix, AZ.  We are so excited for this to happen.  The hard part is being patient with the process. We want them moved NOW!

I went down for the weekend to spend with them while they are here.  We didn't go and do anything, but stay at the house visiting and being together.  We would stay up late and then be tired, so we each took naps through out the day.  The altitude didn't help, it gave all of them headaches and made them very tired for the first three days of their stay. I don't know what Troy's problem was.

Troy zonked out on the living room floor.

It was so good to see the kids, they have grown so much.  It was amazing how untarnished they are from the world.  They aren't bogged down with the peer pressure, electronic devices and social demands that most teens are consumed with.  Their parents have done a wonderful job with providing a loving, learning and spiritual environment to grow up in. They give them wonderful opportunity to develop their talents too.
Daphne plays the violin so beautifully, little Victoria is improvising till she has her own violin, currently she is playing the "Gecko"
Jared and Kaleb were so good at keeping themselves busy, despite being with all of the boring, tired adults.

Pam disappeared and I found her reading to Victoria in the bedroom.  It reminded me of the many hours I spent reading to my children from the countless books that we checked out from the library.  I loved reading to them. They would fight over who would sit next to me. It was hard at times with four children and only two sides of me.
Kirk spent a lot of hours putting printed photos of his work in a photo book to present as a visual of his work.
Kirk is a very talented artist, it's his passion.
Daphne was really enjoying the coloring book that she recently bought, showing the anatomy of the horse.
She has the most beautiful long red hair.
Mary Kaye's boss, a dentist, needed some brochures placed in these "teeth" magnets.  Rich's boys were going to do it, but they were at their mothers, so Rich asked if the kids wanted to earn some money. Jared got right to work, 300 mouths in an hour! Jared is a quiet guy, but always tending to business.

I sat with the camera ready if they managed to get all of the dogs looking in my direction.
Sam, Zeus, Henry and Duke with Kirk and Jared

Pam and Kirk had their dogs, Sam and Henry.  Duke tolerated Sam & Henry like Sam & Henry tolerated Zeus. They were an interesting group of dogs. I told Kirk and Jared, "It would be a miracle if we got a picture of all the dogs looking at the camera".  They did it!

Mary Kaye cooked while we did clean up duty.
Zeus crashed as soon as we were in the car heading home.
I guess all of that play time wore him right out.
